1Overview & Core Philosophy

Welcome to SideDock ("we", "our", or "the App"), developed and maintained by SideDock Team. SideDock is a dedicated, lightweight slide-over desktop sidebar browser and multi-workspace utility engineered exclusively for macOS.

We deeply respect and prioritize user privacy. SideDock is built upon two core principles: "Offline/Local-First" and "Zero Telemetry". We do not operate user accounts, cloud tracking infrastructure, or centralized analytics databases. Your privacy remains in your complete control.

Summary of Core Commitments:

• Zero Telemetry: No behavioral tracking, user profiling, or third-party analytics SDKs.

• Local Sandbox: All configuration, workspaces, cookies, and caches are retained strictly on your local Mac.

• Direct Web Access: Web sessions communicate directly between your device and target websites without intermediate proxy servers.

2Data We Do NOT Collect

To ensure total transparency, we explicitly declare that SideDock does not collect or upload any of the following data:

Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not require account registration, login credentials, phone numbers, email addresses, or real-name verifications.
Browsing Content & Web Input: We do not monitor, log, or transmit URLs you visit, web forms you fill out, passwords you enter, or search keywords you type in SideDock.
Device Fingerprinting & Telemetry: We do not gather hardware serial numbers, unique advertising identifiers (IDFA), MAC addresses, or granular location information.
Web Cookies & Local Storage: We never read, harvest, or synchronize cookies, tokens, or session storage generated while interacting with websites inside SideDock.

3Local Data Storage & Security

Any configuration and runtime data necessary for SideDock to operate are stored exclusively within the macOS isolated application sandbox on your local disk:

Workspaces & Tab Configurations: Your saved workspace titles, URLs, custom icons, and order are stored in a local JSON document within the app sandbox directory.
Application Preferences: User choices such as global shortcuts, background tab sleep intervals, deep sleep timeouts, proxy server settings, and language preferences are stored locally via macOS NSUserDefaults.
WebKit Sandbox Data: The embedded browser uses Apple's native WKWebView. Cached files, web databases, and cookies are maintained in Apple's designated local container and isolated by standard macOS App Sandbox security boundaries.

三本地数据存储与沙盒机制

工作区与标签页配置：您添加的侧边栏网站名称、目标 URL、自定义图标与排序，均保存在本地沙盒专用的 JSON 配置文件中。
偏好设置选项：包括全局呼出快捷键、后台标签自动休眠时长、窗口深睡释放时长、代理服务器配置以及界面语言选择，均保存在本机的 NSUserDefaults 中。
WebKit 容器数据：内置浏览器基于 Apple 原生 WKWebView 构建，网页产生的缓存文件、Cookie 与网络数据由 macOS 官方沙盒安全隔离机制保护，其他未授权应用无法跨界访问。

4Third-Party Websites & Network Interactions

SideDock serves as a multi-workspace web shell container. When you open websites (such as Notion, ChatGPT, GitHub, Slack, or web mail):

Direct Network Requests: Network traffic flows directly between your computer and the remote servers of those third-party websites. SideDock neither proxies nor intercepts your web traffic.
Third-Party Policies: Your interactions with any third-party website are governed by the respective website's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We encourage you to review their policies when submitting personal or confidential data.
Search Engine Integration: When you submit a query through the New Tab address bar, your query is transmitted directly to the search provider you have chosen (e.g., Google, Baidu, Bing).

四第三方网站与网络交互说明

SideDock 作为多工作区小窗与侧边栏容器，当您在其中打开各类第三方网页服务时：

网络通信直连：网络流量直接在您的计算机与目标网站服务器之间建立连接，SideDock 不设立中转服务器，亦不劫持或解密您的网络通信。
第三方隐私条款：您在各个具体网站上的登录、交互及数据提交，均受该网站自身的《隐私协议》与《服务条款》管辖。建议您在访问第三方服务时审慎阅读其政策。
快捷搜索引擎调用：当您在原生 New Tab 起始页的搜索栏中输入搜索内容并回车时，关键词将直接重定向至您当前选定的搜索引擎（如 Google、百度或 Bing）。

5User Control & Data Erasure

You retain absolute sovereignty over your local data. SideDock provides full built-in capabilities to inspect, erase, or reset application assets at any time:

Clear Web Cache & Cookies: Navigate to Preferences -> Privacy -> Clear Web Cache to instantly wipe all cookies, cached files, and close running web processes.
Reset All Application Data: In Preferences -> Privacy -> Reset App, you can wipe all saved workspaces, preferences, and reset the app to its factory initial state.
Complete Removal: Moving SideDock to the macOS Trash and emptying it will permanently remove the application binary. Deleting its sandbox container directory removes every remaining trace from your Mac.

五用户控制权与数据清除

清理 Web 缓存与 Cookie：在应用内进入「偏好设置 - 隐私 - 清理 Web 缓存」，可随时一键彻底清空所有网页生成的 Cookie、离线缓存并释放进程。
一键重置应用数据：在「偏好设置 - 隐私 - 重置应用」中，可一键清空全部保存的工作区网址、历史记录并恢复出厂默认配置。
彻底卸载与抹除：将 SideDock 移至废纸篓并清倒，即可彻底删除应用程序；清理沙盒容器目录即可移除本机全部残留数据，无需担心云端遗留任何痕迹。

6Protection of Minors

SideDock is a general-purpose desktop productivity and multitasking utility. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors under the age of 14 (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). Minors should only use this App under the guidance and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

六未成年人保护

SideDock 是一款通用的桌面端效率与多任务工作区工具。我们不会故意向未成年人索取或收集任何个人信息。若您为未成年人，请在法定监护人的陪同、指导与同意下合理使用本应用及相关互联网服务。

7Amendments to This Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app enhancements, architectural adjustments, or evolving regulatory standards. Any modifications will be published on the official application store page or included in release notes. Your continued use of SideDock following any amendment signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.
